We look forward to welcoming Brad Thompson in February 2019 to Caloundra Psychological Services. Brad is a Provisionally Registered Psychologist who is completing his Masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology. Brad has also completed a Bachelor of Social Science – Psychology (1st Class Honours) . He has experience working within community health, early intervention parenting support services, educational settings, children’s health centres, and private practice.
Brad understands that seeking help is often uncomfortable or avoided. This is why he adopts a relaxed and casual approach by working collaboratively with individuals to develop awareness, reflective capacities, and practical skills required to overcome challenges. He also implements a holistic approach to treatment by considering how individuals are impacted by external influences such as past or current relationships, traumas, schools or work settings, cultural practices and so on. Brad also has interests in adopting neurological, biological, and nutritional research into practice to help adults and children live their best lives.
Brad works with a wide range of mental health referrals for individuals of all ages, tailoring practical evidence-based treatment to best suit client needs. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as Circle of Security and Triple-P parenting programs to name a few. He is also trained in conducting formal cognitive and learning assessments.
